Mrs. Anethia Theress Norris

Anethia Theress Norris was born and reared in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Presiding Elder
James Earl Arnell and Arnetta Jerrilyn Arnell. She has lived in Louisville, Kentucky and
Montgomery, Alabama.
Her Academic Credentials includes graduation from Jefferson Davis High School (1998),
Montgomery, A; Bachelor of Science: Elementary Education from Alabama State
University (2002); Master of Education: Educational Administrator from Alabama State
University (2006); Education Specialist: Educational Administrator from Alabama State University
(2010). She holds the Highly Qualified Status with Certification in Elementary Education (K-6)
and Class A & AA, Educational Administrator. She has a published article in the International
Journal of Humanities and Social Science. (2012). Measuring the Effect Teacher Absenteeism
Has on Student Achievement at A “Urban but not too urban:” Title I Elementary School.  Vol. 2 No.
She is a dedicated teacher who has taught grades 2, 4 and 6 within the public school system of
Montgomery, AL. She has served as Grade Level Chair during her tenure and was on the RTI
(Response to Intervention) Committee for grades K-2. She is presently teaching second grade in
the East Ramapo Central School District in Rockland County.
She is currently a member of St. Luke A.M.E Church (The Luke), Harlem, New York where she is a
member of the Missionary Society. She also holds membership in the Alabama Education
Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
Anethia Theress Norris is married to Rev. Marcellus A. Norris. They are the parents of two sons;
London Nicholas Arnell and Marcellus Alexander Norris, II.
